about

This is an interactive sound installation where a Theremin ‘plays itself’. The Theremin antenna is a 2-meter length of flexible electrical wire that is caused to swing spastically as a chaotic pendulum when the viewer enters the gallery space. Attached to the antenna is an LED light that moves around the space as the antenna wire swings chaotically, thus causing shadows to be thrown in the darkened gallery.

Everyone knows how difficult it is to play the Theremin. Watching and listening to a novice trying to play a Theremin can be at the same time both irritating and humorous.
